Check a Shopify barcode label layout after an update

Check template settings, PDF dimensions and printer scaling before reprinting a changed label layout.

Separate layout changes from print settings

An update alone does not establish why a label layout changed. Start by checking the selected fields, font size and label stock against the settings you intended to use. In Dockside, saved templates retain those settings along with printer alignment corrections. Check the preview before exporting, then compare it with a sample print to see whether the difference appears on paper.

Check dimensions and alignment

Confirm that the selected stock matches your Avery 5160 or 5167 sheets, or your supported thermal label dimensions. Dockside exports PDF pages at the selected stock dimensions, so print at 100 percent or Actual size with Fit to page disabled. Use the alignment guide to check a sample before printing the full batch. If the preview reports overflow, change the selected content or stock before exporting.

Limits

Saved template settings are not a guarantee that every layout stays unchanged after every update. Small labels cannot fit every field, and Dockside does not shrink barcodes below their supported width to force a fit. PDFs use current Shopify product prices, so a new export can contain different prices. Treat each PDF as a snapshot for printing, not an inventory receipt.
