Close project tabs after checking the save

Review your current window's tabs, save a named group, and let Tab Saver verify the save before closing selected tabs.

Save before you close

First, save any unfinished work inside the pages themselves. Tab Saver saves page addresses and tab details, so it isn't a backup of text you've typed into a form. Open the popup, review the current window's titles and URLs, and select the tabs to save as a named group. Pinned tabs start unchecked, so include them explicitly when needed.

Select the closing option, which stays off by default. Tab Saver verifies the save before closing selected tabs, and a failed save leaves them open. To return, restore the entire group or choose individual tabs without removing the saved copy. Undo reopens tabs from the last save that haven't already been restored.

Limits to check first

This covers supported HTTP and HTTPS tabs in the current window, not every tab across every window. Incognito tabs, browser settings pages, tab groups and scroll positions aren't saved, nor are running pages or unsaved forms. Five groups are free, and local storage has an approximately 8 MB size guard. Export a separate JSON backup because removing the extension or deleting your Chrome profile deletes its local data. Reopening a website makes its usual network requests under that website's privacy practices.
